Ipswich School provides a varied offering to help young people reach their full potential, says admissions manager Laura Trainer.

At Ipswich School, we inspire our pupils to explore their passions and create their own extraordinary futures.

From performing on stage at the Snape Maltings Concert Hall to scoring on the hockey pitch, taking part in classroom debates or creating artistic masterpieces – the opportunities are endless.

In the senior school, pupils achieve excellent examination results, making us Suffolk’s top independent school in the Sunday Times Schools Guide for the last eight years.

In 2023, over 80% of A-level exams were graded A*-B, with over one in six graded A*, and we had a 100% pass in all 26 subjects offered at A-level. In addition, 70% of our BTEC students achieved Distinction or higher. Overall, 82% of students secured places at Russell Group or competitive universities such as Cambridge, Exeter, Bristol and Loughborough.

Our 2023 GCSE results were equally impressive, with over one in five pupils achieving all their GCSE exams at grade 7 or above – a total of 29 pupils – and three of these achieving straight grade 9s.

We pride ourselves on dynamic and interactive lessons, with small class sizes but a broad curriculum, which includes life skills lessons throughout the school.

Most importantly, life at Ipswich School is busy and full, and our students take part in a wide range of co-curricular activities outside the classroom.

In the prep school, we provide a welcoming and nurturing environment for our youngest pupils, providing them with endless opportunities to explore and learn inside and outside the classroom. We have breakfast and late stay options for busy parents, plus a full range of clubs and activities for children to take part in.

If you’d like to find out more about what Ipswich School can offer your child, please contact us to book a personal tour, or come to our open morning on Saturday, September 28.

If your child is currently in Year 5, we also have an exciting discovery morning on Saturday, May 18, which will include science experiments and a history mystery to explore.
