A woman from west Suffolk has been sentenced after she pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer.
Louise Meadowcroft, of Myrtle Lane in Red Lodge, between Newmarket and Mildenhall, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich on April 25 for sentencing.
She was charged with two offences relating to an incident on November 2 last year in Red Lodge.
Meadowcroft admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress within the hearing or sight of a person.
This offence was aggravated because of the sexual orientation of the victim.
She was ordered to pay £100 in compensation for this offence.
Meadowcroft was also charged with common assault of an emergency worker, namely a police officer.
She was ordered to pay £150 in compensation and was given an 18-month community order.
At a previous hearing at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on March 1, she had pleaded guilty to both offences.
A collection order was made for both sums, according to a court listing.
