Fagin has been at the centre for over two months. He is a gentle cat who is looking a for a quiet home to lounge around in.

He enjoys playing with string toys but equally loves settling down in comfy areas.

Living with other cats is fine as long as they are as friendly as Fagin, but the home would need to be dog free.

Say hello to Seth, who has been at the centre for 119 days.

He really enjoys spending time with people so can go into a home with adults and teenagers.

He also loves long walks and runs in parks where he can meet and play with other big dogs, but sometimes find smaller dogs scary.

He did very well in training and loves playing fetch with anyone. He does, however, find it difficult to be alone, so his ideal home would have people present for most of the day.

Meet sweet-natured Leila, who has been in the centre for 38 days.

She loves the company of people and sitting on their laps and is confident enough to jump onto someone when she wants some attention.

Leila has lost most of her tail, so you will need to rely on her other body language signals to know when to give her space. Ideally she would need to be the only animal in the house.

This is Pebbles, a playful Staffordshire bull terrier who has been at the centre for 174 days.

He has lots of energy to burn off and loves to run around at top speed. If you are looking for an energetic companion, Pebbles could be the perfect dog for you.

He can get a bit over-excited at times, so experienced dog owners would be best.He also has a fondness for chasing cats, so a home without any feline friends would be most appropriate.

Next up is Kipper, who has been at the centre for 91 days.

He is looking for a new home with access to the outside once he has settled in.

Kipper’s confidence is lacking, so a quiet and calm home with owners who will give him time to feel comfortable and get to know them will be best.He can share a home with a calm dog and can also live with other cats.

Last but not least are Chelsea and Buddy, who have been at the centre for 33 days.

They are looking for a new home together as a pair, ideally with older children who won’t overwhelm them and where they will be the only pets of the house.

The process to adopt any of these pets is simple and begins with applicants completing a ‘Homefinder’ form.

This can either be completed online or in-house at the Blue Cross centre on Bourne Hill, Wherstead.

The rehoming fees for dogs aged over 16 weeks is £160 and the fee for cats is £65.

Where possible all pets are neutered, microchipped and will have had at least their first vaccination before going to new homes.

New owners have the benefit of four weeks of free pet insurance, as well as free behaviour support for the lifetime of their pet.
