Police have charged two people with theft after a search was carried out at a property in Colchester at the weekend.
In support of Colchester’s community policing team, officers from the operational support group searched a property in Sea King Crescent in the town on Sunday, June 25, at 9.30am.
Jasmine Devaney, 25, and Lloyd Salter, 30, both of Sea King Crescent, were arrested following the search of the building.
Devaney was later charged with five counts of theft and Salter was charged with one count of theft.
The pair appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday and are due to appear at the same court on Wednesday, July 12.
The arrests follow thefts from shops in Colchester over a near four-month period between Saturday, February 18, and Saturday, June 10.
Sea King Crescent is located in the Highwoods area of Colchester, and is adjacent to Highwoods Community Centre and post office.
