Firefighters had to remove a chimney pot after a blaze spread from a woodburner at a Suffolk home today.
Four crews were called to the property in Church Road, Denham, near Stradbroke, at 2.49pm and spent two hours battling the flames.
A brigade spokesman said it was a chimney fire, which started from a woodburner.
No one is believed to have been hurt as a result of the incident.
The aerial ladder platform vehicle from Ipswich East was used to reach the roof and remove the chimney pot.
The woodburner was also taken out of the home and into the open air.
The brigade spokesman said firefighters used “small tools” to dismantle the fire place.
Firefighters from Norfolk helped crews from Ipswich and Stradbroke.
The incident was declared under control at 4.46pm.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus while tackling the blaze.
Both the police and ambulance services were not needed at the scene.
