A steam engine making its way to the North Norfolk Railway travelled through the region on Thursday.
British Railways class 4MT 2-6-0 No. 76084 is normally based on the heritage railway in Sheringham but has been visiting other lines in Yorkshire and Lancashire over the winter.
It is also registered to run on Britain’s main lines because it is fitted with modern safety and electrical equipment.
Because of this it travelled back to East Anglia under its own power – and made its way through Suffolk and Norfolk yesterday afternoon.
You can see a video of the engine on its journey, and rejoining the NNR from the main line, below – and if you spotted it on its travels, we’d love to see your photos and videos of it – you can email us details here or tweet as @EADT24 and @IpswichStar24
It passed through Peterborough around 1pm on its journey, which started in York at 7am, and then to passed through Lakenheath station around 2.59pm, Brandon around 3.05pm and Thetford around 3.15pm.
It then travelled via Attleborough (3.34pm) and Wymondham (3.40pm) to Norwich, arriving shortly after 4pm for a stop over of around three hours.
At 7.10pm it left for Sheringham via Hoveton and Wroxham (7.33pm), North Walsham (7.43pm) and Cromer (8.01pm), completing the trip around 8.20pm.
