More than 2,500 pupils from 95 primary schools across Suffolk are aiming to swim hundreds of miles this week.
The event, which sees them swim around their pool as many times as possible during their weekly swimming lessons, is part of the Great East Swim 2014 Community Outreach Programme.
And 12 schools have been chosen to take part in a gala final and swimming masterclass at Crown Pools on June 20 with former Olympian David Davies.
The events have been organised by Suffolk County Council and Suffolk NORSE, who deliver school swimming. It aims to encourage them to take part in the Great East Swim on June 21 at Alton Water.
Entry is still open for the half-mile for those aged 12 and over, one mile, two mile or 5km events.
Visit www.greatswim.org to enter by Monday.
