Inspire Suffolk and GeeWizz will be the deserving causes we’ll support over the coming 12 months as they continue doing great work in the Suffolk community.

Inspire Suffolk works with young people, helping them overcome challenges to take the next positive steps in their lives, while GeeWizz supports families living with cancer or a disability.

The announcement was made at yesterday’s Suffolk Show by Archant Suffolk editor-in-chief Terry Hunt.

GeeWizz and Inspire Suffolk are working together to host The Glitter Ball, a magnificent black tie event on Friday November 10 at Milsom’s, Kesgrave.

Terry Baxter, CEO of Inspire Suffolk, said: “We are very grateful to all at Archant for their fantastic continued support.

“It will boost our determination to continue supporting many more local young people onto positive paths. Thank you to everyone involved.”

GeeWizz founder Gina Long MBE said she was humbled to have the support of Suffolk’s two daily newspapers.

She said: “GeeWizz was set up 18 months ago to support families in Suffolk and promote transparent fundraising.

“Since then, every individual or business who has supported the charity knows exactly where every penny they have donated or raised has gone.

“We have a long list of families who need our help as well as special schools across Suffolk. But we are always more than happy to hear from anyone who feels GeeWizz could support them or their loved ones.

“We also want to hear from businesses and individuals who would like to get involved in GeeWizz. The more money we can raise, the more families we can support.”

GeeWizz has raised almost £150,000 in support of local families since the charitable foundation was launched 18 months ago.

Thousands of people have benefitted from the Inspire Suffolk’s services – providing opportunities that they may not otherwise have access to - to help better their life chances.
