THREE crews from Essex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a barn fire in Gestingthorpe this morning.
Firefighters from Sible Hedingham and Halstead attended the incident at Church Street at 9.08am, where they found four straw bales “well alight”.
The fire was put out by 10:13am but crews remained at the scene for a further 45 minutes, turning over and damping down to ensure there were no hotspots.
A crew will return later today to ensure the area remains safe.
