A garden sanctuary created in partnership between Pro Corda, the Leiston based music and education charity, and Freddy Whyte, a designer from Saxmundham, was awarded a silver from the judges.

Mr Whyte said it was “very fulfilling” to receive the medal for “The Pro Corda Garden: A Suffolk Retreat” which had been designed as an inspiring rehearsal space for musicians and a soothing area for the children with autism. Some of the students gave a musical performance from the gardens.

“The public were extremely interested in the Pro Corda story and reacted to it very well,” Mr Whyte added.

Other medal winners included Potash Nursery in Bacton, near Stowmarket, which said it was “over the moon” to have taken gold medal for its fuchsias.
