A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Clacton in January.

The 30-year-old man from Dagenham was arrested yesterday on suspicion of robbery and was released under investigation while police continue with their enquiries.

The arrest comes as part of an investigation into the attempted robbery of two security guards at around 11.40am on Wednesday January 18 outside the Tesco supermarket in the Brook Retail Park in London Road, Clacton.

The guards were allegedly threatened and told to open cash machines.
