A spring cleaning campaign across west Suffolk has seen volunteers litter pick and remove more than 460 bags of waste from public open spaces.
More than 600 volunteers took part in litter picks across Forest Heath District and St Edmundsbury Borough throughout March and April, collecting an estimated 2.3 tonnes of waste.
Among the more unusual finds from one location was a single black stiletto, six rubber gloves and an empty whisky bottle.
All of the general waste collected has been sent to the energy from waste incinerator in Great Blakenham.
A spokesman for the councils said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our residents and businesses who got involved in tidying up their local areas. We support community litter picks throughout the year as part of our Love Where You Live Campaign, details on which can be found at www.westsuffolk.gov.uk/lwyl.”
