Book lovers in Needham Market are being asked to have their say on a proposed change to the local library’s opening hours.

The proposal would involve no change to the total hours open, but the opening pattern would be slightly different on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The change would mean library closing for lunch on Tuesdays and Saturdays, opening later on Tuesday afternoons and closing slightly earlier on Wednesday evenings.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Libraries said: “The aim is to provide more consistent opening hours which allow the library to open later on a Tuesday allowing local children to visit after school.”

Local people can give their views either at the library or online at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/needhamlibrary.

The survey will run until 28 March 2018 and any changes would then have to be approved by the Suffolk Libraries Board and Suffolk County Council.
