A 32-year-old man has died after being struck by a train in Bury St Edmunds last night.
Suffolk police said it was called at 9.35pm to assist British Transport Police (BTP) with an incident at the Orttewell Road railway bridge.
A spokesman for BTP said: “A 32-year-old man has sadly died after they were struck by a train near Bury St Edmunds yesterday evening.
“Officers were called shortly before 9.30pm and attended alongside paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service.
“The man’s family have been informed.
“This incident is currently being treated as unexplained whilst officers examine the circumstances leading to the man’s death.”
