The trial of a Suffolk man accused of locking a woman in his home before allegedly raping her has been adjourned until tomorrow due to a juror being unwell.
Before Ipswich Crown Court is Paul Shelley, 35, of Field Way, Debenham, who has denied rape and false imprisonment.
It has been alleged that Shelley became angry while the woman was at his house and locked the front and back doors when she decided to leave.
The alleged victim was crying and Shelley told her she couldn’t leave until she had sex with him, said Jane Oldfield, prosecuting.
She refused and had tried to climb out of a window to get away but was allegedly pulled back in by Shelley.
He had then allegedly kissed her and undressed her and started having sex with her.
After his arrest Shelley denied locking the woman in his house and preventing her leaving.
He claimed she had undressed herself before they had consensual sex.
