Pupils at an Ipswich school have helped to raise over £9000,

Students from the Royal Hospital School were able to present a cheque for £9,300 to the Suffolk Community Foundation.

The fundraising was co-ordinated by the school’s Charity Committee which is led by pupils.

A wide range of events were held to raise the money including a summer fete and a colour run.

Clive Rennison, assistant head at the school said: “We encourage our pupils to think about wider issues beyond their school and immediate community.

As well as those who have volunteered to be part of the Charity Committee, pupils of all ages are expected to be involved in some element of service as part of their co-curricular education and personal development and topics are addressed and discussed through assemblies, Chapel services, tutor groups, lectures and events.”
