Heavenly Hair in Saxmundham has been named as a finalist in the Independent Salon - Business Newcomer category, sponsored by Sweet Squared, at the British Hairdressing Business Awards, hosted by Hairdressers Journal International.

The awards, which are now in their 19th year, seek to find and celebrate the very best salon businesses in the country – an industry which contributes an estimated £7bn to the British economy and one which employs more than 300,000 people.

The competition, HJ’s 2017 British Hairdressing Business Awards, has 17 categories celebrating all aspects of the business side of hair, the awards are a proven platform for raising a salon’s profile.

The Independent Salon - Business Newcomer category celebrates the owners of new independent salons which are less than two years old. It recognises their goals and aims, but also the realisation of those plans in terms of success and future business growth.

Salon owner Janene Hawkins, Senior Stylist at Heavenly Hair said: “It’s such an honour to be on the shortlist in this competitive category. A couple of years ago, my salon was just a dream – now it’s a thriving business with an exciting future. I’m excited to see it go from strength-to-strength and these awards are a great confirmation that we’re on the right track.”

Jayne Lewis-Orr, HJ’s Executive Director, said: “Promoting professionalism, innovation and excellence, the British Hairdressing Business Awards recognise those individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile and stature of this industry, and make it one of which we can all be proud.

“New salons open all the time, but what makes them successful is a clear vision, defined goals and an owner who can motivate and inspire their team to deliver greatness. That’s what this exciting category is all about.”

The awards take place in London on Monday, September 11.
