Slice of Broadway starts run in Stowmarket as SODS production of Mame begins

A slice of Broadway and West End musical theatre has come to Stowmarket this week.

The Stowmarket Operatic and Dramatic Society (SODS) are performing a run of Mame at the Regal Theatre.

The musical show features a mix of comedy, songs and dance, and started on Wednesday May 10, running until Saturday, May 13 at the Ipswich Street theatre.

The show is about the titular Mame Dennis, a glamorous, well-to-do woman who lives a carefree life of pleasure in New York at the peak of the 1920s.

Out of the blue she is surprised by the arrival of her ten-year-old orphan nephew, named Patrick.

Memorable musical numbers include Bosom Buddies, We Need A Little Christmas, My Best Girl and Mame.

The show will be at 7.30pm each day plus a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.
