Masters of Invention was launched at the Lettering Arts Centre, Snape Maltings, by graffiti artist Errol Donald – a founding member of London’s Chrome Angelz in the early 1980s.

The exhibition – on until May 28 – includes images from a new book, Wall Writers - Graffiti in its Innocence, by Roger Gastman. An accompanying film will be screened in the Peter Pears Recital Room at 6pm on Saturday, April 8, attended by Errol Donald.

It charts the evolution of graffiti, from its origins in Egyptian tombs, to its cultural explosion in New York and Philadelphia.

Sarah Harrison, executive director of the Lettering and Commemorative Arts Trust, said: “People are excited to see such major artists exhibiting in one collection, which goes back to the origins of graffiti.”

The gallery and shop open Fridays to Mondays, from 11am-5pm.
