Bobble hats, festive wreaths and teapot cosies were just some of the treats on offer at Woodbridge’s Christmas street fair this weekend.
More than 5,000 shoppers attended the annual extravaganza along the Thoroughfare and Cumberland Street yesterday, with organisers hailing it the best yet.
There were around 120 stalls, selling food, drinks and gifts, along with carol singers and a band for entertainment.
The event is organised by Tim Fincham, of the Sandwich Shop, on behalf of Choose Woodbridge.
Running the fair for 15 years, Mr Fincham said it got bigger each season.
“I think it was the best one we have ever had,” he said. “We had more stalls than ever.”
Next year he plans to extend the street fair towards Church Street.
“It brings the community together,” Mr Fincham said. “It’s a big thing for Woodbridge and I think it starts our Christmas. A lot of people come and get gifts, and it puts Woodbridge on the map.”
Councillor Geoff Holdcroft, Choose Woodbridge director, said he was pleased the event went so well.
