TWO people have been handed prison sentences after being found guilty of conspiracy to manage or assist in the management of brothels.

Suffolk Constabulary led a multi-force and multi-agency operation, targeting people trafficking and prostitution on July 21, 2010, which saw officers from Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Wiltshire and Devon and Cornwall Police execute five warrants at premises in Ipswich, Norwich, Harwich, Swindon and Tedburn St Mary in Devon.

The UK Border Agency, the Crown Prosecution Service Complex Case Unit and the UK Human Trafficking Centre were also involved, together with Specialist officers from the Serious Organised Crime Agency’s (SOCA’s) Vulnerable Persons Team.

Five victims of sexual exploitation were located during the raids and have been provided with the best possible care.

Today at Ipswich Crown Court Alexsander Sochacki, 41, from Oakley Road, Harwich, was sentenced to three years in prison and Aleksandra Bryll, 29, from Baddow Road, Chelmsford, was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Detective Chief Inspector Bernie Morgan, who led the operation, said: “The sentencing at court today outlines the seriousness of this case and not only sends out a strong message that sexual exploitation will not be tolerated and that we will do everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice, but will also hopefully provide some reassurance to the victims.

“The outcome at court follows a lengthy and detailed case which involved five forces led by Suffolk Police together with partner agencies.

“This joint force/joint agency investigation into a serious organised crime group has shown that regional borders do not affect the working capabilities of law enforcement agencies who are committed to investigating serious crime of this nature.

“We would urge anyone with information about such activities to contact us. All information will be followed up and where there are enforcement opportunities, these will be acted upon with partners.”

On Wednesday August 29 this year four other people, a man and three women, who had also been found guilty of conspiracy to manage or assist in the management of brothels, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court.

Przemyslaw Wegrzynowski, 41, from London Road, Ipswich, was given an eight-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months with a condition that he is banned from entering Ipswich, Colchester and Norwich for 12 months.

Magdalena Pacula, 23, from The Hawthorns in Stroud, Gloucestershire, and Jagoda Kukielka, 26, from Notley Road, Braintree in Essex, were given 100 hours unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order and Eliza Bryll, 24, from Wells Crescent, Chelmsford in Essex, was ordered to work 120 hours unpaid work as part of her 12-month community order.
