The family of a Braintree father-of-two who died following a collision in Cressing which claimed the life of his wife have paid tribute to him.
Gary Vincent, 51, died on Thursday, October 5, following the collision in Ashes Road on Monday, August 14.
His wife Joanne, 47, died at the scene.
Today, Mr Vincent’s family have issued a tribute to him, describing him as a family man who ‘was always there if you needed a chat’.
They said: “In loving memory of Gary Vincent; a beloved brother, husband and father of two.
“He loved his dogs and family above all else, and always put their needs above his own.
“He had a passion for his motorcycle, computing and gaming.
“He was so laid back, friendly and was always there if you wanted a chat, whatever hour of the day or night.
“We would like to take the opportunity to, once again, thank the members of the public who were at the scene of the accident, all emergency services, and all hospital staff at both Addenbrookes and Broomfield for their continued efforts over the past two months. “Despite their best efforts, dad was unable to recover from his injuries and passed away, surrounded by his family on October 5.
“Just like mum, dad was tragically taken from us too soon, was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by us all, but at least we can take comfort knowing they are together again.”
Officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision and a 70-year-old man remains under investigation on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
