A GROUP of horses found straying close to the A14 near Bramford have been secured by their owner, police have confirmed.

Officers were urging motorists to take care this afternoon after 21 horses were spotted in Paper Mill Lane in Bramford, near Ipswich.

The force helicopter was also called out to keep an eye on the animals from above.

A Suffolk police spokeswoman said the horses are now secure and the incident did not result in any collisions.

In December a man died after his car was in collision with horses that had strayed onto the A14.
