A DRIVER and passengers have been rescued from a car which ended up in a ditch on a rural road after it overturned.

Emergency services were called to Cranley Green Road, between Eye and Redlingfield, at about 8.20am today, (Thursday February 7).

Fire, police and ambulance were all called. A police spokeswoman said the driver and passengers, who they believe are “elderly” had become trapped in the car by their seatbelts.

She said: “The car is being recovered by the owner, there were no injuries.”
