Shocking dashcam footage captures the moment a driver in Lowestoft speeds straight on into oncoming traffic and narrowly misses a car.
The video, dated March 15 at 4.23pm, shows the driver of the Hyundai i10 turn sharply out of the right hand lane on Belvedere Road.
The car, on the wrong side of the road, speeds past the standing traffic waiting to cross the Bascule Bridge.
It then swerves to avoid a car travelling in the oncoming lane before continuing towards the bridge.
The junction is a well known traffic jam hotspot, with drivers often getting frustrated at long delays driving through the town.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident and have asked anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of the Hyundai i10 at around the time stated or who has dash cam footage of the driving to contact the Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing team at Suffolk police on 101.
