Will it be T-shirt and shorts weather or is a raincoat required for Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday?

Good Friday

The first day of the much-loved long weekend is also set to be one of the best when it comes to weather.

Adam Dury, of Weatherquest, said the temperature is set to reach highs of 14C. It will be a bright start to the day, but outbreaks of cloud and some rain, particularly in the west, is predicted later in the afternoon and into the evening.

Overnight will be chilly.

Saturday

Saturday could see some showers in the early hours, but it is set to be largely dry. Temperatures will be at around 10C to 11C. There could be some isolated showers and the evenings will be chilly.

Easter Sunday

There will be no risk of balmy temperatures melting your foil wrapped chocolate eggs, with highs again of 10C to 11C.

A chilly start will be followed by a mainly dry day, but the evenings are more likely to see rain, especially overnight.

Easter Monday

Monday will be slightly warmer temperatures than Sunday, with highs of up to 12C. It will be a cloudy start and you may wake up to a little bit of rain.

The rest of the day should be largely dry.
