Pupils at Yoxford and Peasenhall Primary School created a raised bed for this year’s theme of “Made in Suffolk”at the Schools Show Garden Competition.

Teacher Jackie Ball praised the team’s efforts.

“The children worked extremely hard,” she said.

“They designed and made the garden for the show making beach huts, the house in the clouds, willow fencing, painted pebbles and nurtured plants. They also drew and coloured in fantastic pictures of sea creatures and produced a book to show their journey.”

The Suffolk Agricultural Association contributed £150.00 towards the cost of each garden which schools were able to spend as they wish. A further £100’s worth of shrubs, plants and seeds were available to spend with Rougham Hall Nurseries near Bury St Edmunds.

Ed Hopkins, a top Suffolk garden designer, was on hand to offer advice and assistance during the design stage of the project.
