Braintree Town will entertain Dulwich Hamlet in the third round of the FA Trophy, while Essex neighbours have been handed a glamorous trip to former Football League stalwarts Tranmere Rovers in the same competition.

Iron’s reward for last Saturday’s impressive 5-2 win at East Thurrock United is a home match against Ryman Premier opposition, so Hakan Hayrettin’s men will fancy their chances of progressing through to the quarter-final stage.

Michael Cheek netted a fine hat-trick at Rookery Hill, while at the same time Dulwich Hamlet recorded an eye-catching 4-1 victory at National League South hosts Whitehawk on Saturday.

The Hamlet are currently lying in fifth spot in the Ryman Premier, two divisions beloew The Iron.

Meanwhile, Chelmsford City will be relishing their visit to Prenton Park, to pit their wits against National League promotion hopefuls Tranmere Rovers.

Relegated from League Two in 2015, Rovers are hoping for a swift return to the Football League – they are currently in third spot. Rovers eased to a 4-1 home win over South Park on Saturday, while Chelmsford stretched their unbeaten run to eight games with a late winner in a 1-0 victory at Dartford.
