We have assembled a group of Town fans to predict the outcome of Ipswich games and have their say on what’s going on at Portman Road.

Every week, our panel of Ipswich Town fans will make their predictions ahead of the Blues’ latest game, with three points awarded for a correct scoreline and one point given for a correct outcome.

We’ll keep a league table along the way, before crowning a winner at the end of the season.

I learnt my lesson from the Bolton game, even cautious optimism was too positive - so I’m going with my gut today.

Wolves haven’t won since the beginning of this month and lost last weekend to Forest, so of course McCarthy will be playing for a draw. To be fair, any point against the top team in the league is a good one, but I suspect he’ll set us up to protect the result and make sure we get something from the game.

It’s 1-1 for me, with a goal from Celina to end a lovely week where he gave a signed shirt to a fan on Twitter. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-1 Wolves

This will be a tough game this weekend against one of the best sides in recent Championship history, but this will be a game that Mick McCarthy relishes against his former club that he still feels he was harshly treated by.

Ipswich play some of our best football against sides who try and play out from the back with the likes of Garner, Waghorn and Celina not giving the defenders a moment’s peace on the ball, and with our home form being generally good I fancy us to pick up an unlikely point at Portman Road. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-1 Wolves

The good news is, we’re at home and Wolves are coming to Portman Road on the back of a surprising defeat to Nottingham Forest. However, the visitors aren’t top of the Championship table with a nice cushion for nothing.

The table toppers will be playing us after some winter training in Spain which may go some way to helping them rejuvenate and regroup which in turn, could make for a nervy watch if you’re a Town on Saturday.

Even though five out of the last six times we’ve played them, it’s always ended in a draw, I’m going for a Wolves win here. 2-1 to the visitors however, I’m looking forward to an impressive home debut from loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers our new USMNT international. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-2 Wolves

I think we will have to wait and see how Wolves respond from last Saturday’s shock defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest. It could be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of a shell-shocked side that are clearly not infallible. On the other hand, they will be keen to restore their cushion at the top of the Championship and will fancy their chances against Town.

Last week’s dismal game away at Bolton would have done little in terms of confidence for Town and now the runaway leaders come visiting to Portman Road. This season we have struggled to cope with “Footballing” sides such as Fulham and Bristol City and unfortunately I see this game following a similar trend. Just like the reverse fixture at Molineux, I expect Wolves to come here, dominate possession and ultimately have that quality needed to carve us open like a Christmas turkey.

I don’t expect this to be a runaway victory for the league leaders. In typical Ipswich fashion, Mick McCarthy will make sure we battle and contain them as much as we can but with the quality in their ranks, sadly I see nothing but an inevitable defeat for Town on Saturday. Prediction: Ipswich 0-2 Wolves

Last week’s draw at Bolton was a perfect summary of where the team are currently - stuttering to find any rhythm but picking up enough points along the way.

Although the league leaders arrive at Portman Road on the back of a rare defeat, it seems extremely unlikely that Mick McCarthy will deviate away from the safety-first policy that has become prevalent against the division’s stronger sides. The central axis of Connolly and Skuse will be key to the approach, assuming the latter is passed fit, but they could be supplemented by new-signing Stephen Gleeson making his first start to further shore things up.

Given that the leading contender to drop out of the side for Gleeson would be David McGoldrick, it could represent a pivotal week for the fans favourite. Prediction: Ipswich 0 Wolves 1

Ipswich face a Wolves team who have just suffered their first defeat in 13 games and I can see the opening exchanges of this match being a cagey affair. Wolves won’t have it all their own way mind you, as Mick McCarthy plots a win against his former employers, the Yorkshireman no doubt revelling in the poor underdog tag, pitched against Nuno Espirito Santo’s expensively assembled side.

Wolves, however, currently sit top of the table with 62 points, 22 points ahead of Town and I expect this gulf to widen on Saturday. Diogo Jota is their dangerman and I anticipate him scoring in what will end up as a comfortable win for Wolves. Prediction: Ipswich Town 0 Wolves 2

I always think that Wolves are a very difficult team to play and they are doing very well this season flying high at the top of the table.

It’s a few years since we last beat them and I don’t like to be pessimistic but I’m afraid I’m not sure I can see us beating them this time around either, but I hope Town can prove me wrong!

I’m going for a goalless draw, I think a point would be a good result for us. Ipswich Town 0-0 Wolves.

We are in the second round of Fans Jury! This time we are facing the current Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers at Portman Road! Probably the biggest test in this season along with the Derby…

I personally find this moment quite interesting as Wolves just came from a 2-0 defeat at home with 14th based Nottingham Forest, while we came from a 1-1 draw with Bolton (20th in the Championship) at their home. Ipswich didn’t lose but I can’t say our draw didn’t feel like a defeat or quite similar. So definitely Wolves and Ipswich Town will both want to bounce back to the winning ways!

So my prediction for this huge clash is a narrow 1-1 draw while Garner will score for us! Good luck to the Tractor Boys! Fingers crossed! COYB! Predictions Ipswich Town 1-1 Wolves

This is a difficult match to predict the outcome of due to the frustratingly inconsistent performances of Ipswich this season.

Wolves provide this weekend’s opposition and should frankly be promoted by April with the embarrassment of riches at their disposal. This should be treated as a free hit for Town.

Ipswich can rise for an occasion such as this, but as with both Fulham matches and the Bristol City game at the beginning of the season, they can also toil if their opponents move the ball with zip and pace.

Unfortunately I can see another one of those games this weekend and expect Wolves to have too much quality despite Mick’s good record against his former employers. Prediction: Ipswich Town 0-2 Wolves

Wolves have been away on warm weather training so let’s hope it’s cold, wet and windy at Portman Road this weekend.

The Fosun group and superagent Jorge Mendes have accumulated a rather excellent squad and rather a large haul of points this season - imports Boly and Neves are a cut above and have raised the level of British players Doherty, Coady and Douglas.

I suspect Gleeson will start and 4-2-3-1 will become 4-3-3 - I hope I’m wrong but a 0-1 defeat seems most likely. Prediction: Ipswich Town 0-1 Wolves
