Bartosz Bialkowski
Will be disappointed Jarrod Bowen’s shot beat him at the near post for Hull’s third on a night where he had to pick the ball out of the net three times. He couldn’t do much with the first and was caught scrambling for the second. 5
Jordan Spence
Hit the post inside the first 10 minutes but otherwise found things difficult again. He lacked composure on the ball and gave it away and was also caught out of position as the fluid front four of Hull punished the Blues. 4
Luke Chambers
Led the effort to pass and keep the ball on the floor from the back, but often looked caught in two minds as he tried to do so when it would perhaps have been better to put his foot through the ball. Tried to keep his troops’ heads high on a tough night. Played a captain’s role. 6
Cameron Carter-Vickers
The Tottenham loanee has been a rock for the Blues since arriving in Suffolk but this was arguably his most difficult game yet. Looked as if he struggled to adjust to playing in a back four, rather than as one of three central defenders. 5
Jonas Knudsen
The Dane was called into his country’s international squad earlier today but this was a night to forget for the left-back. He was caught out of position, gave the ball away and was generally sloppy as he let high standards of consistency slip. 4
Luke Hyam
A poor night for the homegrown product as he struggled on the ball and wasn’t able to assert any kind of physical dominance in the midfield area. Lost possession on a regular basis. 4
Tristan Nydam
Certainly didn’t deserve to be hooked at the break. Yes, he was as guilty as many of his team-mates for giving the ball occasionally, but he was positive in what he tried to do and made one excellent tackle to stop Jackson Irvine early on. 6
Stephen Gleeson
Another poor display in the middle of midfield from the Irishman who has not looked comfortable in each of the last two home games. He gave the ball away, looked out of ideas as he played it long and was often caught out of position. 4
Grant Ward
Always tried to be positive when on the ball and, while it wasn’t always successful, he didn’t give up. Worked the ball well down the right, attempted to get balls into the box and ran at his man, particularly in the second half. 6
Bersant Celina
Wanted the ball but was unable to create an awful lot with it. Dropped deeper and deeper in search of the ball as he desperately tried to get involved but was unable to test the goalkeeper. 5
Freddie Sears
Played centrally again but fed off scraps. Ran the channels well and seemed brighter once joined by Waghorn in a front two as he looked to get balls into the box. Never looked like breaking a scoreless run that dates back to last April. 5
Martyn Waghorn
Looked bright when he came on and got the Blues moving forward with a bit of urgency but, with the result already decided, it was too little, too late. 7
Callum Connolly
Was caught cold inside two minutes of coming on as Bowen skipped past him for Hull’s third and never really managed to get control of the game. 5
Ben Morris
Will have been delighted to have made his Championship and Portman Road debuts but would rather have done so in a more positive environment. 6
