Ipswich women’s hockey side returned triumphant from the Suffolk Cup at Culford, with players from across all four teams meshing well under the direction of new second team coach Richard Rutterford.
The first game of the day was against local rivals I.E.S. Ipswich came out 2-0 winners, the first goal came from a short corner, scored by Emma Thornbury, while Kate Wingar added a second.
Game two was against Bury. Ipswich ran out 2-1 winners but sadly the game had to be cut short due to a horrible injury to Thornbury, who broke her fibula. Emma was also the scorer of both goals before she was injured.
Game three was against a young Framlingham side. The score was 5-0. Even with very tired and heavy legs, Ipswich started the game strong and went at Fram from the push back!
Goal scorers were Minal Patel, Ianthe Hill (2), Rosie Bennett, Steph Allen and Kate Wingar.
