This Sunday sees a special challenge meeting at Mildenhall as the ‘KJM/Manchetts’ Fen Tigers face a Young Lions U21 side featuring some of the most exciting young talent in the country, 4pm start.

Young Lions team boss Neil Vatcher will be taking charge of his team on his return from Sweden, hence the slightly later start time of 4pm. He brings with him two stars from the British Youth Championship of 2016. Kyle Bickley (Belle Vue) and Tom Brennan (Eastbourne) plus Liam Carr and Jack Parkinson Blackburn from Birmingham

The line up is completed by three riders with Mildenhall connections, 2016 Fen Tiger Alfie Bowtell, 2016 Fen Tiger Cub Alex Spooner and previous club mascot Lewis Whitmore. Mildenhall will be without both Connor Mountain who is riding for Ipswich at Scunthorpe and Jordan Jenkins who is currently taking his exams.

Their replacements are ex-Fen Tiger Grand Slam winner from 2012 Joe Jacobs and locally-based King’s Lynn Young Star Taylor Hampshire.

With the weather playing havoc with other local fixtures this week club promoter Kevin Jolly is hoping supporters will flock to West Row on Sunday for their speedway fix.

“We have some of the best young talent in the country on show at Mildenhall on Sunday and hopefully supporters from all clubs will descend on West Row for what promises to be a most entertaining and informative meeting,” he said.

“It will be a big challenge for our lads but I feel we are in such good form at the moment that we fear no one especially at home. I would like to thank Neil Vatcher for all his help in getting this meeting on and I am sure supporters will understand the need to drop the start time back an hour”

Speaking ahead of Sunday Young Lions Team Boss Neil Vatcher said: “I would like to thank the Mildenhall management for giving the Young Lions an opportunity to race in this fixture.

“For a number of years now, I have been keen to get the Under 21 boys some Test Matches, and even though this is a one off fixture against Mildenhall, it was an opportunity I felt we could not turn down to get all the boys together to race as a team. It is a real busy part of the season for everyone, and I will be in Sweden the night before for the World Under 21 semi-final with both Robert Lambert and Adam Ellis, but I am really excited about getting the seven boys together and race as a team, and hopefully moving forward we can do more of these type of fixtures, or even Test Matches against other nations, which would be fantastic”
