A Suffolk school is celebrating a double victory for its rugby teams.
The girls’ year 10 rugby team at Farlingaye High School, in Woodbridge, was only formed this year but has already triumphed in the County Cup, playing matches against Thomas Mills, County Upper and Thurston, before beating Copleston in the final.
Meanwhile, the year 10 boys also won the county tournament, beating Felixstowe, Hadleigh and Copleston before beating King Edward VI and Hartismere. They only conceded one try in total and scored more than 200 points.
Both teams benefitted from some of the students playing for Woodbridge, however lots of the team members play only for the school.
Head teacher Sue Hargadon said that all the players had made excellent contributions to the team and that their efforts in training and games had seen them make outstanding progress.
