Who knew Ed Sheeran was such a romantic?

The release of Divide shows a softer, yet still anecdotal, side to his music interspersed with the tracks you can’t help but just want to dance to like no one’s watching, like his ode to Suffolk Castle on the Hill.

There are further local references to his home county too. The “river flowing Orwell” is mentioned in Hearts Don’t Break Around Here.

Stand out tracks include the super soulful Dive. An agonisingly beautiful song about love and heartbreak.

The new anthem for me on his potentially best album yet, and one which could reach Thinking Out Loud status, is Perfect. A genuine love song if ever I heard one and will no doubt become a first dance favourite for couples tying the knot. What I love most about Ed’s songs is you can just relate to them. You are left hanging on every word and, in this case, feel the emotion and passion which has fuelled this epic offering.
