Suffolk Show chiefs have been praised for their support and promotion of the arts in the county.

Among the sculptures on show and for sale at the event is a new work by Ipswich sculptor Craig Hudson.

The sculpture, called To the Moon and Back, is a life-size bronze inspired by Mr Hudson’s family dog Marley. It was cast at Butley Mills Studios and has recently returned from The Alde Valley Spring Festival.

Jason Gathorne-Hardy, director of Alde Valley Spring Festival, said: “It is really exciting to see the Suffolk Show give so much support and promotion to the arts in Suffolk – and especially local emerging artists who are making a name for themselves both regionally and nationally.

“There is much to see at the showground. Craig’s latest work To the Moon and Back is impressive in its scale. And also nice that the piece has come back home – it is good to see it on show near Ipswich and the University of Suffolk.

“Craig is a leading alumni from the Department of Fine Art and Humanities, which is also supporting the growth of the arts in Suffolk and East Anglia.”
