The Mystery Jets take on indie has spawned countless spin-off groups.

Many of them are playing Latitude alongside them this year, including Two Door Cinema Club who draw on the twang of their tracks but lose a lot of the melancholia.

It was when guitarist William Ress announced they were 'taking it down' to some slow songs at the Obelisk stage that he lost a few of the crowd, specifically the group who had been bouncing merrily at the front - regardless of what they were listening to.

The Twickenham band clawed the crowd back with some of their best known tracks including Young Love (sadly missing their collaborator the excellent Laura Marling) and Two Doors Down.

You can't just play the sing-along songs, and we were treated to a couple from the latest album - Curve of the Earth, with Telomere and Bombay Blue got out of the way early, to allow the afternoon crowd to warm to them.
