Ipswich law firm Attwells removes single use plastics from its office
Ipswich-based Attwells Solicitors has removed single-use plastics from its offices in a bid to help the environment.
This follows recent public pressure brought about by initiatives including Sky Ocean Rescue campaign and the BBC’s Blue Planet, which highlighted how single-use plastic products are damaging the environment.
Attwells staff members have been given reusable water bottles, replacing the single-use plastic cups widely used.
The chancellor Phillip Hammond is said to be considering the problem that single-use plastics cause. He is reported to be considering a new plastic tax on similar to the 5p levy on plastic bags.
Attwells Solicitors is the first law firm in Ipswich to remove single-use plastics from its office. Senior partner Nick Attwell said: “We all need to have a little more responsibility for our environment and I hope that this small step by Attwells will be replicated by other businesses.”
