AXA’s Ipswich team scooped four major honours at this year’s UK National Call Centre Awards.

The insurer, which has 1,500 staff working in the town’s Civic Drive site, took gold for support team of the year and AXA’s customer service team leader Nicki Woolf also won a gold award for manager of the year.

Liza Noga picked up the Silver Award for Quality Team Manager of the Year, while the Be SMART to your HEART programme took silver in the in the most effective health and wellbeing initiative category. The team won praise for their Walk all over Cancer initiative, where staff walked almost 2.5 million steps in a month for Cancer Research.

The awards, held in London by the Call Centre Management Association, saw AXA compete against Sky, McDonalds, Barclaycard and Tesco Bank.

Laurent Matras, Managing Director of Personal Intermediary and Corporate Partnerships, AXA UK, said: “Ipswich is one of our major sites and I’m proud that the team were able to do the town proud.”
