A free exhibition of designs created over the last 15 years for Aldeburgh Music’s season brochures has opened.

The month-long show of signed limited edition prints, based on some of the most memorable images created by Peter Silk and Rob Steer, of Colchester-based Silk Pearce, is at Snape Maltings Concert Hall Gallery. Silk Pearce at Aldeburgh Music, is timed to coincide with Snape Proms, from August 1 to 31, and is open from 2pm until the end of each evening performance.

Silk Pearce is known by Aldeburgh Music fans and supporters for creating imaginative, visually-intriguing design themes and for capturing the creativity, musical heritage and ‘sense of place’ that draws artists and audiences to Aldeburgh year after year.

The exhibition will allow visitors to view and purchase framed or unframed prints of their favourite images, as well as seeing examples of other Aldeburgh Music projects that the designers have worked on.

As well as creating all the season brochures for Aldeburgh Music since 1999 – more than 60 in total – the team’s design work has included Aldeburgh Music’s corporate identity, fund-raising literature, websites, sign schemes and promotional campaigns, including for the 2013 Britten centenary celebrations.

“Silk Pearce has designed and produced a huge range of printed, online and other promotional materials for Aldeburgh Music over the years making it particularly difficult to decide what to include in the exhibition.

“In the end, Rob and I have chosen illustrations, photographs and graphics covering a range of styles and techniques so that hopefully there is something for everyone,” said Mr Silk, joint creative head at Silk Pearce.
