Millionaire jeweller Gerald Ratner, Keane bassist Jesse Quin, and Hoax clothing founder Jason Carter are the big names announced to speak at this year’s MENTA business show in Bury St Edmunds.
Mr Ratner transformed his jewelry chain ratner’s from a family business with 130 stores to a public company with 2,500 stores across the world, and profits in excess of £120 million. Following a gaffe in which he compared his products to M&S prawn sandwiches, Mr Ratner was forced to sell the business, but bounced back into the industry with online diamond retailed geraldonline.com.
The show, which is being held at The Apex on October 2, will also include a ‘Talking Heads’ session with Keane’s Mr Quin, who operates a hub for the creative industries, Old Jet, in a former US Air Force base in Rendlesham.
He will be joined on the sofa by one of his clients, Jason Carter of Suffolk clothing brand HOAX, of which Ed Sheeran is the ambassador.
