Colchester’s Fenwick department store launched its Tiptree Jam Jar Bar to coincide with World Gin Day on June 9.

The bar, run by fruit farm owners Tiptree, was set up to serve a selection of fruit gin liqueurs, wines, bubbly and cocktails “with a Tiptree twist”, and is open during store trading hours. It also features soft drinks, coffees, smoothies, and shakes, along with a selection of tasty nibbles and sweet treats. Scott Goodfellow, joint managing director of jam makers Wilkin & Sons Ltd. said they were “very excited” at the new venture. “Together, we’ve created a really smart space where friends can relax, catch up, and enjoy a tipple or two.”

Store director Julie Hayward said they were always on the lookout for new customer experiences and loved working with local firms.

More than 100 people could be facing the prospect of losing their jobs this Christmas in one Suffolk town.

The German budget supermarket chain is moving into a town still reeling from the loss of its M&S and Asda.

‘There is a tendency to talk Essex down - London looks down on our ability to prosper. But we should be hugely proud of our county.’ That’s the message from Adam Jones, a partner at Birketts law firm and one of the masterminds behind a new report showing profits at Essex’s top 100 firms have shot up by 14.3% in the last year.

Colchester Business Enterprise Agency has been announced as the winner of the Enterprise Engagement Award at the National Enterprise Network (NEN) Annual Conference.

Savills says political uncertainty is doing little to dampen the Suffolk property market - with changes in lifestyle driving increased demand for town centre homes.
