A team of employees, friends and colleagues laced up their running shoes and took to the Essex countryside to collect cash for a cancer treatment facility.

After weeks of training, Team Dedham – from Milsom Hotels – took part in the annual 10k Dedham run late last month.

The group had one aim – to raise funds for the 2019 club at the Colchester Cancer Centre, of which Paul Milsom is the patron.

Team Dedham reached their target of £5,000, with Milsom Hotels topping up the final few hundred pounds to hit this figure.

The 2019 club currently has 19 members from the local business community who have pledged to raise £2019. These gifts will transform the care of cancer patients by increasing the number of people it is possible to treat – creating a comfortable and inspiring environment, improving access to support, advice and information, and providing a more efficient working environment for staff.

Almost £3million has been raised so far with just £265,000 left to find for the facility, at Colchester Hospital, and construction of the centre is planned to start later this year.
