A public speaking club in Suffolk plans to celebrate its 20th anniversary by hosting an “empowerment” workshop to help more people develop their self-confidence.

The Ipswich Electrifiers Speakers’ Club is staging the event, entitled “Finding Your Voice”, on Saturday, May 23, with the session being led by voice and communications coach Richard Fallon.

“We’d like to share some of the tips and techniques for more effective communication that we’ve gained over the years,” said club president Yuvraj Padmanabhan. “The workshop will focus on how to use your voice to project your personality and build up your own self-confidence.

“It’s ideal for anyone looking for promotion, another job or greater interface with clients. This could include students and new job-seekers, as well as businesses pitching for contracts, and individuals taking on senior roles, or chairing meetings.”

Mr Padmanabhan added: “Richard is very charismatic. His workshops are great fun, and highly motivating and inspirational.

“He will be passing on techniques for improving communication skills – and there will be plenty of opportunity for informal networking and sharing experiences.”

The event, starting at 9.30am, will be held at the Suffolk Food Hall at Wherstead, near Ipswich, and will be followed by a celebratory lunch.

Information on booking and prices can be found on the club’s website at www.ipswichelectrifiers.org.uk .
