A popular Halloween attraction in west Suffolk – which is held in the grounds of a grand stately home – has scooped a national award.
Scaresville, which is based at Kentwell Hall, in Long Melford, has been recognised by the SCARE awards and picked up the title of Best Multi-Part Halloween Event.
To celebrate the win, Scaresville, which is now in its 12th year, is launching a limited number of early bird tickets today.
Rebekah Phillips, director of Scaresville, said: “Our hugely talented team at Scaresville have been perfecting how to make people laugh, and cry, for the last 11 years.
“We couldn’t be prouder of everyone’s hard work and commitment which has led to this award and are now revved up to make the 2018 event one you won’t want to miss.
“As a thank you to all our loyal visitors, whose enthusiastic and hilarious responses make the event such fun, we are offering a limited amount of super early bird tickets. We can’t wait to scare you again.”
The event attracts visitors from all over the UK and more than 250 people were involved behind the scenes last year.
Michael Bolton, head judge, said: “Where Scaresville feels different to other events is in the sheer volume of different experiences.
“The scenes come thick and fast and it is impossible to second guess what is coming next.
“From killer clowns through to pitch black mazes, and massive set pieces, the attraction throws just about every scare technique at the guests.
“It really is a tour de force of live action Halloween terror.”
Scaresville runs from October 3 to November 3. Find out more at www.scaresville.co.uk
A limited number of early bird tickets are now on sale. All other tickets will go on sale on August 1.
