Around 150 Suffolk and Norfolk employers will be taking part in a major engineering conference featuring key sector leaders on Thursday, February 15.

Evolution: Journey into Industry 4.0 takes place at West Suffolk College and features a range of keynote speakers including Rui Chen, professor of low carbon engineering at Loughborough University, Filomena Martina, lecturer in additive manufacturing at Cranfield University, James Gillespie, export growth manager at the Department for International Trade, and Henk Koopmans, chief executive of telecoms giant Huawei UK.

Delegates will be told how the college will provide future engineers trained at its STEM centre, and is leading the bid to become the Eastern Institute of Technology (IoT) along with partner colleges, universities and employers.

Gary Jefferson, executive director of engineering and technology at the college, said they were “proud” to be hosting the event, which also includes workshops.
