Peterborough have sacked manager Mark Cooper - just 79 days after he took charge at London Road.

Cooper has presided over just one win in 13 games during his time at the helm and, with Peterborough firmly rooted to the bottom of the Championship table, the Posh board have decided to take action.

A statement on Peterborough's official website said: “After meeting with the manager, Peterborough and Mark Cooper are parting company with immediate effect following the termination of his contract.

“The football club would like to thank Mark for his professional and dedicated service during his time at London Road and wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
