The Low House (The King’s Head) Laxfield is a charming 15th century thatched free house with real ales served from the tap room.

The pub is open seven days a week for drinks, with food at lunchtimes and evenings. Three rooms are available on a bed and breakfast basis too.

A great range of events are regularly held at the pub, including the November Noggin, the venue’s winter beer festival, which will be held from Friday, November 9 to Sunday, November 11.

Christmas Party bookings, which are still being taken, are proving very popular this year.

The food on offer is good quality pub fare with daily specials, including piri-piri chicken or salt beef and sliced gherkins with eggs benedict.

Since being bought by eight local people in May this year, the typical lunch menu boasts steak sandwiches with horseradish sauce as well as a delicious range of meals to suit special requirements.

All of the food is prepared with locally sourced ingredients and served with excellently kept real ales and a warm welcome.

Dishes which have recently received five-star reviews on Trip Advisor include home-cooked pies, sea bass and salmon and delicious starters such as homemade pork terrine.

There are also sandwiches and puddings, and roasts every Sunday. Courses cost between £5 and £12.

The deliciously festive Christmas party menu, which is available from mid-November, costs £24.95 per person.

Enjoy starters such as game terrine with red onion chutney and granary toast and goats’ cheese salad with beetroot and walnuts, mains including traditional roast turkey or nut roast with all the trimmings and desserts such as Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and warm chocolate cranberry brownie with cream.

The Low House will also gladly create exclusive menus for special occasions.
