Eat, drink and party all night under one roof at Hudson House in Colchester. Begin your evening with a delicious meal in the top floor restaurant Steak etc. followed by your favourite tipple and a cocktail perfectly shaken by its master mixologists. Make sure you take full advantage of its fantastic two for one cocktail offer too! Steak etc. opens its doors at 6:30pm for the ultimate New York steakhouse experience. Relax in the cosmopolitan loft setting and choose from the American inspired menu which includes big cut steaks from the char grill loaded with all the extras and sides, or opt for a gourmet naked burger ready to dress just the way you fancy, from the burger shack. If you fancy something other than meat, Steak etc. also has a selection of fish and vegetarian dishes.

Mimosa

The bespoke concept for Mimosa is inspired by global travel, and the chefs at the restaurant have designed a selection of contemporary British dining menus using the best local and seasonal produce from the land, sea and garden. The vast, versatile and luxury space boasts opulent décor designed by award winning interior designers.This Valentine’s, diners can tuck into a specially thought out set menu made up of three courses. For something special to pair with your meal, Mimosa has an extensive wine menu which will leave you spoilt for choice, offering a variety of vintages from both new and old worlds. On special occasions the fine wine and Champagne selections are sure to impress too. For all other tastes, there is also a range of bottled and draught beers including its very own Elysium branded draught pilsner and a mixology cocktail menu showcasing the most delicious expertly crafted drinks.

Franco’s

For over 10 years Franco’s, in Clacton-on-Sea, has offered an extensive menu of pasta, fresh fish, shellfish, Scottish beef, duck, chicken and vegetarian dishes. This Valentine’s the restaurant is putting on a special three course menu for diners, which shows Franco’s passion for every dish that comes out of the kitchen. You’ll be spoilt for choice – there are 10 starters to choose from to begin including baked camembert, grilled scallops with bacon and fresh potato gnocchi with tomato, basil and fresh pecorino sauce. For mains, there is another great selection of meals to choose from; these include linguini with fine shellfish marinara, fillet of beef with Stilton and port wine sauce and aromatic braised duck leg with orange liqueur sauce. Why not indulge on pistachio and raspberry cheesecake or Franco’s Tia Maria tiramisu for dessert? And finally, there’s coffee or tea with amaretti biscuits and truffles to finish. What more could you want?

Yew Tree

The Yew Tree pub is the perfect country village watering hole, and while it might feel as though you’re in deepest English countryside on the fringe of the Dedham Vale, in reality the pub is just a few miles from the two bustling historic market towns of Colchester and Sudbury. At the charming pub, Valentine’s is set to be a week long treat from February 11 until February 16. The Yew Tree’s chefs have created a delicious limited edition menu which is sure to delight and entice; enjoy the two course Valentine’s set menu for £16.99, or dine on three courses for just £19.99 per person. The menu includes a range of tasty treats from homemade chicken goujons to start, the chef’s signature barbeque beef burger for mains and, for dessert, an indulgent chocolate fondue to share.
