CELEBRITY Suffolk farmer Jimmy Doherty married his girlfriend of seven years on Saturday.

Jimmy, 33, and Michaela Furney, 31, tied the knot at St Mary's church in Wherstead in front of 140 guests.

The couple travelled from the church to the wedding reception held at Jimmy's Farm in Wherstead on a pink tractor which was a Valentine's Day gift for Michaela three years ago.

Jimmy, who shot to fame when TV crews began filming his efforts setting up and running a farm just outside Ipswich, said: “It was a very special day, and to have it on the farm which Michaela and I hold so dear to our hearts was the ultimate celebration to share with our friends and family.”

Michaela who wore a white dress created by Cara at Cocoa Designs in Cheltenham, added: “It was just magical and completely as we dreamt it would be - even the weather was perfect.

“I'm very excited to be Mrs Doherty.”

The couple met seven years ago when Michaela worked as a runner for a production company who were filming with Jimmy.

Michaela moved to Jimmy's Farm and the BBC TWO series Jimmy's Farm followed them as they developed and built up their rare-breed pig farm.

The couple have a busy few weeks ahead with preparations in full swing for Harvest at Jimmy's.

The food and music festival is being held at the farm on September 12 and 13 and features some of the UK's top chefs including James Martin, Gina D'Acampo, Gennaro Contaldo, James Wong and Anjum Anand.

Musically, there will be performances from Athlete, KT Tunstall, Jos Gonzlez, Badly Drawn Boy and Seth Lakeman.
