Rag Week is part of the whole college experience - and today we are looking back at some of the fun around Suffolk and Essex over the years.
One of the most unusual student stunts had to be rhubarb smashing at Writtle Agricultural College in 1975, while a large crowd looked on.
Suffolk College students took part in a Rag Week bed-push through the centre of Ipswich in 1989.
And a sponsored hitch-hike was an unusual fundraising idea at Colchester Institute in 1994.
The Rag Week idea spread from universities and colleges to schools, and many high school pupils will also remember taking part.
